I've been away from DA for a long time, mostly because my job was taking pictures of newborns all day long, so the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was take more pictures. I had a good 9 month run there, but my little-miss-know-it-all bit started getting old like it always does, and I was no longer happy to go to work. Plus my disability payments were about to stop, and the job paid less than disability did. H-m-m... run around on my feet all day for $x ? or stay at home pursuing my other interests for $x + $y ? Not much of a choice really.

Of course, my second job this whole time has been watching my niece 8+ hours a day for 2 to 4 days a week. And that takes 100% of your concentration. No room for flowers or trips, just keeping that little one safe, happy, and entertained, and keeping the house from looking like an episode of Baby Toy Hoarders.

So most of my photography this past year has been of babies, and that's not very deviant at all if you're doing it right. Especially if you're selling the pictures to new parents afterwards.
I certainly can't post the photos that I took for my job, though I wish I could, but prepare to be inundated with pictures of my niece Alexandra, or as the family calls her, Ally.
